A 74-year-old Miami woman scared off a robber who pretended to be delivering medicine to her bedridden husband. Her loyal doxie tried to help her out after the robber began shocking the woman with an electric device and grabbing at her gold necklace around her neck. The doxie’s heroic efforts were thwarted by the same electric shocker.
The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, was expecting a delivery of medicine when the robber came by and coincidentally said he was delivering medicine. (Sounds like an inside job to me…) “Farmacia,” he announced at the door, and she let him in.
When he started shocking her and demanding jewelry and valuable items, she fought back hard, and her dog tried to. In the end, she used a pair of giant scissors to send him scampering back to his white two-door car.
In case you’re in the Miami area and have an idea who may have done this, the robber is described as being 50 to 55 years old, 5'2' to 5'4' and about 180-200 pounds. The Miami Herald reports that he has a large belly, thinning hair with receding hair line and unshaven round face. He was wearing a dark navy blue polo shirt and dark blue pants. Sounds like quite the catch. And I hope they catch him soon.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Miami Police’s robbery unit at (305) 603-6370 or Crime Stoppers of Miami Dade at (305) 471-TIPS.
