Jane Lynch may have played a dog trainer bent on trying to help a poofy poodle win a big dog show in the movie, “Best in Show,” but in real life, she is far from a fan of dog shows.
She is urging the USA Network, which airs the Westminster Dog Show, to air a PETA public service announcement during the show.
“Although I played an ambitious dog trainer in Best in Show, in real life I wouldn’t go near the Westminster Dog Show because it promotes the breeding of animals even as millions are dying for homes in shelters,” E! Online reports Lynch wrote to USA Network brass.
The PETA spot shows dog owners playing and walking with dogs in body bags. Its message: “If you buy a dog, what will you do with the shelter dog you kill?” I’m including it below. It shows nothing graphic, but it’s still pretty disturbing. Don’t watch it if you are sensitive. But if you do watch it, let us know your thoughts. And either way, what do you think of Lynch’s request?
