Fido Friendly Restaurant Guide

December 31, 2011 at 7:46 pm

Found this extra-cool blog that lists dog-friendly restaurants in the U.S. It’s called K9 Epicurian (http://k9epicurean.blogspot.com/). It’s part travel, part cuisine, part “where-to-take-your-dog-for -dinner-out.” Most of the restaurants featured are in California, but I’m sure they bloggers would consider well-written blog posts from other parts of the country. Very readable, entertaining, and fun.

Top Ten Pet Friendly Cities For 2011

Our friends at Livability have just come out with their Top Ten Pet Friendly Cities list. The winners were selected based on the abundance of "pet friendly parks and trails, quality veterinary care, active animal welfare groups, as well as an abundance of pet boutiques and retail shops". According to their report, in order to be chosen as a pet friendly city, the city also "had to offer an exceptionally high quality of life for the owners who love those pets". Pet owners are increasingly basing their choice of city on the quality of life for their entire family, and that includes pets.3, Rocky Mount, North CarolinaWe were kind of surprised to see Chicago not make the list, as it is fairly well known as very pet friendly. However, we can personally attest to the "dog friendliness" in Asheville, North Carolina. We spotted dogs everywhere, not just in the country, but also downtown, and they seemed to be welcomed with open arms!Do you agree with the list? Was your favorite city left off? Let us know what you think!
