Celebrity Dogs Will Take Home Sophisticated Pup Swag at the MTV Movie Awards

These days, the dogs of celebrities are getting more and more time in the spotlight, so it's only natural that this year's MTV Music Awards' swag bags are going to include fashionable flower collars from high-end dog boutique Sophisticated Pup. The collars were designed specifically for the event by Sophisticated Pup owner Michelle Cleek O’Hollaren.

The Pink Tangerine Tutu Dress and matching collar and leash were created for Tori Spelling and her pooch, Mitzi.

Hosted by comic Russell Brand, the MTV Movie Awards will be broadcast Sunday, June 3, from the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles. With celebrities such as Emma Watson, Emma Stone, and Kristen Stewart slated to be in attendance, it promises to be a star-studded evening of movies, music, and even mishaps, as Ashton Kutcher returns for a special Movie Awards' edition of Punk'd. Winners of the different categories -- which include Best Kiss and Best On-Screen Dirtbag -- are voted for by viewers, making it the movie awards of the people.

In addition to the exclusive flower collars, Sophisticated Pup will be displaying a Damask Tutu Dress (pictured below) with matching collar and leash in the celebrity guest lounge. Although most of these dogs lived a long, happy life, there were also unexpected tragedies as well.

I met a feline celebrity in Manhattan

We’ve all heard the saying “Dogs have owners. Cats have staff.” Matilda the Cat has an entire hotel staff at her beck and call.

On a recent trip to New York, I stayed at the famed Algonquin Hotel, which I’d chosen not because of its long history as a haven for writers, but because of Matilda.

The Algonquin, located in the heart of Manhattan’s theater district, has had a resident cat since 1930, when a hungry stray wandered into the hotel in search of food and shelter. Owner Frank Case, famous for first welcoming Dorothy Parker and her friends to start the legendary Algonquin Round Table in the hotel’s bar, welcomed the feline traveler, and a tradition was born.

The current Matilda is the tenth resident cat, and the third cat to be named Matilda. She is a ragdoll who was chosen from North Shore Animal League after Matilda II, a 13-year-old ragdoll, announced her retirement. Matilda III began her residency at the Algonquin about a month ago. She likes to spend time in the hotel’s lobby, behind the front desk, or lounging on a baggage cart. The doormen feed her and the general manager’s executive assistant answers Matilda’s e-mail. When asked whether I could “rent” her for the night to keep me company, the bell captain told me “that would be up to Matilda.”

After spending the afternoon walking around Manhattan, I settled in for some people watching in the hotel’s lounge. Since I don’t drink, I passed on ordering a Matilda (belvedere ponaranza, cointreau, freshly squeezed lemon & orange juice, splash of perrier jouet 18) and stuck with cranberry juice instead. I asked the waiter where Matilda was, and he pointed to a corner of the lobby. And there, underneath a planter, on a velvety cat bed, was the “Algonqueen” herself, snoozing away. Since I didn’t want to interrupt the two guests sitting at the table in front of the planter any more than I already had, I didn’t get a chance to pet her.

Matilda was not out and about when I returned from dinner with friends later that night, and I assumed that meant that she had turned down my request to spend the night in my room.

Early the following morning I went to the lobby in search of coffee, and there was Matilda, stretched out in the very center of the lobby. I bent down to pet her, and was rewarded with a smile, a yawn, and a stretch.

My visit to New York was now complete.

Small Breed Dogs Continue to Oversee Human Breeding – More evidence has recently surfaced that small dogs in Hollywood are responsible for selective breeding; finding human specimens with superior qualities and characteristics, and arranging for them to copulate.

Witnesses say That Scarlett Johansson’s Chihuahua, Maggie, is the latest small breed dog to do so; allegedly making plans for her to breed with Sexiest Man Alive, Ryan Reynolds.

Unconfirmed reports claim that Maggie has tried to sabotage the couple’s attempts at birth control, and has gone so far as to take a supervisory position at the foot of the bed.

Genetic Chihuahua Pawn?

“Ryan has always complained that Maggie bosses him around, and has claimed that Scarlett treats him as a distant second to the 7 pound Chihuahua dictator,” added one source. “Now Maggie is pressuring him to perform every time she ovulates.”

It is still unknown why small dogs like Chihuahuas in Hollywood are using eugenics (selective breeding) to create a group of genetically enhanced babies, but some suspect that it is part of a larger sinister plot.

A historian in the Los Angeles area added, “Throughout history dictators and royalty have arranged favorable marriages, or tried to use eugenics develop master races or to gain power.”

“Now, look at the tiny dogs that control celebrity couples like  Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom and Giselle and Tom Brady. I believe the dogs are literally forcing them to breed. For some reason, the small dogs are now trying to create a group of genetically superior babies. You start to put the pieces together, and it’s kind of scary. What are they planning?”
